The Interna(list)—a mini-series exploring the internal intricacies of our inner-being through the practice of writing lists.
I love lists! I really do. I love shopping lists and to-do list; gratitude lists, anxiety lists, reading lists and movie lists. Bucket-lists, inventory lists, brainstorming lists and brain-dump lists, index lists, check-lists, time-line lists….I LOVE ALL THE LISTS.
I also believe lists are a fantastic form of self-reflection. If you struggle with journalling (like I do), then simply ordering your thoughts in a list is a great way to start.
Reflecting on one’s list is where the magic happens, though. Thinking about each dot point and choosing words to explain your WHY is how we learn about the intricacies of our inner being.
You can read my lists for inspiration. Listed (obviously) below ⬇️

Step-by-step Reflective Exercises - Coming Soon (I need your help)
Don’t just be a passive reader. Use The Interna(list) posts above to inspire you to write your own lists. I want to hear about your objects of affection, birthday wish-lists, anxiety lists, and do-to lists, etc.
In fact, I need you to share your lists (and your challenges and insights into creating them) so that we can formulate a blue print of exercises for future list-writers.
I’ll link the first draft here for all readers. Then we can do a bit of brainstorming to see how it can be improved.
Happy listing!
I am a fan of lists too. My favourites are gratitude lists and ta-da lists.
